Why Every Camper Needs a Swag

Published on

Camping is an activity that is enjoyed by many people around the world. All of these people can have their own reasons why they like doing it and you can easily see why since camping does have a lot of good qualities. You can do it because you want to spend some time in nature away from the pollution and noise that come standard with city life. You can do it to take a little break from your work, school, or even your friends and family and just be alone with your thoughts and no distractions other than the sounds of the birds, the rivers and the crackling fire at night. You can even do it just because you want to go hiking and have some fun with your friends in the wilderness. But no matter the reasons why, you should focus more on how you can do it.

Right after the word tent swag is what you think of when you are going over which items you absolutely need to have with you when going on a camping trip. Much like the tent, the swag is an item that shelters you from the elements when you are out and about in nature. But since taking a tent swag combo along with you is pretty much overkill, why should you prioritize the swag over the tent?

Well, while they both serve mostly the same purpose, the main difference between the two is the capacity that each can hold. The swag is mostly made for either a single person or at most two, while the tent can have enough capacity to hold everything from 1 to a dozen people in it. While at first this may seem like a point against the swag, the truth is that it is genuinely better when it comes to camping. The tent holds more people, no doubt about that, but it is also much heavier to carry and takes up more space and time to set up, which isn’t a problem if you are staying at the same place for a few days, but if you plan on moving as soon as the next day comes, it will just slow you down.

The swag is purpose built for camping. It’s very easy to set up and pack up again, which means you can already have it finished a split second after you decide where you will be spending the night, and have it on your back as soon as you want to move on in the morning. The space isn’t an issue at all as the one-person design makes it perfect just for you, and while camping it is already standard procedure for everyone to bring their own tent, so carrying an overly cumbersome weight is really unnecessary. Honestly, the protection that the swag can give you along with the comfort of the foam mattress that usually comes with it is not only good enough for any camper, but actually more than enough.
