Corner Lounge: The Comfortable Styling Piece Every Modern Home Should Have
Life is too precious to be spent in an interior that doesn’t really say “comfort”. Home is associated with haven, that place you go to whenever you want to get some rest and relaxation from the outside world, so it should be warm and welcoming instead of just be filled up with furniture without much thought. It might be somewhat of a challenge to undertake such a task, taking designs and styles into consideration, but it’s not that difficult when you let imagination take the reigns of decorating. Of course, it’s slightly easier when you live on your own from a new and growing family. Not only do you have to find a mutual ground with your significant other, but also take spatial requirements into account.
I’ve always loved the sight of sofas, perhaps because they play a great role in the overall interior décor, but more so because of the comfort they provide, giving you the opportunity to have some quality relaxing time by the TV, gathering up with family for a cup of coffee or tea and amusing chats, and even energising naps when you’re just too tired to go to the bedroom. Since my husband was too attached to his sofa (inherited by his grandparents), we had to wait for it to get in such a bad worn out shape to consider some change – happy day for me as I’d always wanted to replace it with a modern corner lounge, yet a very sad one for him. He hadn’t realised before his favourite piece of furniture was actually creating visual clutter and cramming the living room.
Now that we had the chance for a makeover, we got excited for the open space we’d gotten all of a sudden and we didn’t want to get furniture that would end up closing the interior same as his sofa did, which is why the modern corner lounge came about as the perfect option. Placing it a bit further from the wall helped create a visual impact, making the room seem bigger. This led to more possibilities of playing with the décor, using only frames around as decorations, defining a more minimalist style. It turned out to be ideal for our toddler to just crawl from spot to spot with no obstacles in the way.
My husband is loving the new look, and now regrets we hadn’t done the purchase earlier as the corner lounge turned to be the missing piece of our interior to make it feel more homely and the cosy spot for our Netflix binge-watching time.
