Bed Furniture: The Crucial Piece of the Good Night’s Sleep Puzzle
Taking into account that sleep is essential to a person’s well-being, there’s nothing better than getting a good night’s sleep. I’ve had my share of sleepless nights and self-diagnosed insomnia when walking from room to room, counting sheep, drinking warm milk and trying out all the old well known methods of folk medicine. After nights like that I felt my body just couldn’t handle all the day’s errands which usually resulted in brain fog, lack of productiveness and grumpiness that would fall hard on my husband. As much as I blamed it on my lack of willpower to send electronics out of the bedroom, I also blamed it on the bed.
Since it was obvious we needed a new bed, it didn’t take long to convince my husband for us to get money ready and go shopping. What I didn’t think was going shopping tired doesn’t exactly make things easier, especially when choosing the bed because they all seem comfortable, so we ended the search through local shops and instead did so online. It made the whole process simpler and much more convenient since we didn’t have to go out, and we purchased late at night, after carefully reading through every product description. This time we avoided repeating the same mistake of before, and instead of just focusing on the mattress comfort, we looked into bed furniture as a whole.
Starting from size, we had to get a bed as big as our bedroom space allowed because the previous one was rather small, so small in fact that we started thinking about sleeping in separate rooms (now I’m glad we didn’t). Having a large bed means we have the room enough for tossing and turning on our own and still get cosy cuddling afterwards. Then of course, we had to consider the materials and styles of bed furniture of which there was no lack of. Since our bedroom interior is sophisticated, we didn’t want to create an imbalance by adding something striking, so we got an elegant upholstered bed frame that made the room feel all the more enjoyable.
The cherry on top was the mattress and with all the types out there it’s not that difficult to get confused when choosing. Luckily, we’re both back-sleepers so we knew right away we needed a firm one that would provide the necessary support, and still relieve the pressure points tension where too much firmness doesn’t do good. Now that we welcomed the new bed in our lives and I showed the door to electronics, I can finally say I get all the sleep I need to tackle the next day full speed ahead, and the same goes for my husband. Making this investment means we get to have quality sleep for at least ten years which is why it’s worth it as we spend a third of our lives sleeping. Nothing should compromise sleep!
